CUET UG 2027 Subject Selection Guide
Your subject choice can decide your admission more than your marks. This is the part nobody tells you. In the last cycle, candidates could pick up to five subjects from 37 options, and each university asks for its own combination. Most students miss this and choose subjects they find easy, not subjects their course needs. A wrong combination can make you ineligible for the exact course you wanted.
What Is the Latest Update
NTA has not announced the CUET UG 2027 dates or the information bulletin yet. Based on the last cycle, registration is expected around January 2027 and the exam around May to June 2027, but these are estimates. NTA has also not announced any change to the pattern, syllabus or eligibility for 2027. So the 2026 structure is your best reference until the bulletin comes.
How the 37 Options Were Built
In the last cycle, the 37 test options had 13 languages, 23 domain subjects and the General Aptitude Test. Domain subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Economics, History, Political Science, Accountancy, Business Studies and more. The exam is a computer based test, and the domain syllabus follows the Class 12 NCERT books. NTA may change the list for 2027, so confirm it in the new bulletin.
How to Choose Your Five
Start with your target course, not your Class 12 stream. Open the admission page of two or three universities you want and note the exact subjects each course accepts. Pick the subjects that appear on most of those lists. Add the General Aptitude Test or a language only if your target courses ask for it. SahayakGPT keeps its exam pages updated, so check the details again once NTA releases the bulletin.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Here is where people get confused. They choose subjects only because they feel easy. A course may count only specific subjects for ranking, so an easy but unlisted subject adds nothing. Do not pick your final subjects before you have checked the course eligibility of your top universities.
